A grandfather leaves a legacy that emphasizes customer care
It was Alan Lukes’ grandfather James Kolar who handed down this philosophy to his grandson. It epitomizes how we managers of the All Natural Country store feel about our customers. We also believe that we serve both men and women and all minorities equally. Therefore the original pronoun “He” in the original document has been corrected to include women.
A customer is not dependent on us. We are dependent on him or her.
A customer is not an interruption of our work; he or she is the purpose of it. We are not doing him or her a favor by serving him or her; he or she is doing us a favor by giving us an opportunity to do so.
A customer is not an outsider to our business; he or she is part of it.
A customer is not a cold statistic – a name on a filing card or ledger sheet. He or she is a flesh-and-blood human being, with feelings and emotions like our own.
A customer is not someone to argue with. Nobody won an argument with a customer.
A customer is a person who brings us his or her wants. It’s our job to fill them profitably – to him or her and to ourselves.
